クロスビー、シナトラファンは是非観てください
1940年の『フィラデルフィア物語』のリメークですが、前作はちょうど売れ出し中の若手2枚目俳優とキャサリン・ヘップバーンという何とも豪華なキャストでしたね。スチュアートがアカデミー主演男優賞を受賞したのもこの映画でした。そんなアメリカ映画の名作をどのようにリメークしたのかとても興味がありましが、出演がクロスビーとシナトラといえば、当然ミュージカル色が強くなるが、どちらかといえば、少し控えめではあったね。それと、脇役ながらアームストロングの好演技が光っていた。そんな中、誰もが注目したのが、最後の映画となった元モナコ王妃のグレース・ケリーですね。一番美しい時期にモナコ王室に嫁ぐということで、かなり地味な演技かと思ったら、結構お色気一杯の好演技でした。

Worth re-watching.
By now you know this is a remake of "The Philadelphia Story" and may have a tendency to compare them. I did this my self at first; then I realized they each have their strong points. I even get them mixed up now and them. All you have to do is remember this is the musical. My favorite song in the list is "True Love". Of course as with everything different people are bound to have different favorites and there are plenty to chose from.

In case you are new to the story, basically C.K. Dexter-Haven (Bing Crosby) and Tracy Samantha Lord (Grace Kelly) are divorced. Tracy is getting married again. The clan is gathering. We watch as they go through the motions and emotions of courting and reevaluating their lives.
