The Album Spawned Three Hit Singles the Led Zeppelin Influenced "Still of the Night," the Anthemic "Here I Go Again," and the Power Ballad "is this Love." The CD features the Original European Album (With Two More Tracks Than It's American Counterpart) and Four Bonus Tracks Taken from "Live...in The Shadows of the Blues." The Dvd features Four Videos all of which Got Huge Airplay on MTV at the Time of Release - which May have Been Influenced by the Appearance of David Coverdale's Then Wife "Tawny Kitaen" and Four Live Performances from the "Live ...in The Still of the Night" Concert.

ボートラとジャケが最悪
サーペンスのリマスターというだけで売れるのだから、先に出た現ラインナップでのライブ音源、映像はいらないだろう。最近購入した人は多いはずだ。

しかも先にオリジナルを聴いてからチューニングを下げたライブを聴くとズッこける。

あとジャケ内装で嫌な思いをすることになります。

サイクス脱退後の悪夢の面子のショットが満載…
ブックレットの前半にサイクスが少し載っている程度です。
これはマーレイ―サイクスの作品なのだから、脱退後の悪夢のツアーなどどうでもいいはずでしょう。エイドリアンもヴィヴも他人の残飯で富を得て、ギタリストとしての向上心を失っていった。

1987〜2007とタイトルにはあるが、1987を売りにかましているのだから関係ないはずだ。オマケなどいらない、サイクスだけの音源で出して欲しかった。

あとUK旧盤に入っていた7等がきちんと入っているのは嬉しいが、5のHeqe I Go〜のソロがエイドリアンのまんまで残念。

カヴァとレコード会社は次々と新しい音源を出すのはいいが、ファンのニーズを本当に把握しているのかと疑いたくなる。

間違ってもジョン・サイクスを忘れずに
米旧盤(WHITESNAKE)を持っているが、記念盤(?)的な感じなので買ってしまった。
リマスタリングされてベースやドラムの重い音がクリアになっているのだが、旧盤慣れもあるかもしれないが、楽器ひとつひとつの音色がシャープになって、ハモッたときのあの少しぼかした感じがしない。正直初めて聴いた時よりも、インパクトも感動も薄い。初めての方は旧盤を聴いた方がイイかと。

DVDについて触れておくと、PS2(SCPH-30000)では再生不可能でしたが、PC(松下製DVDドライブ)では試聴できた。
内容は、Still of‾、Here I‾、Is This Love、Give Me All‾のビデオクリップと同曲名のライブ映像。まぁ正直どうでもいいような内容だからDVD目当てに買うと少し損した気分に。カヴァディールの若かりし頃と老けた姿を見比べる事はできるが。

真打ちの登場！！
これまでにBEST盤でリマスターを聴く事は可能だったが、今回の様に全曲リマスターは初めてである。元々サイクスのギターの分厚さ・鋭さは体験出来たが、このＣＤではさらにダイナミックさが増し、当時のアメリカ戦略の意味がより明確になったサウンドとして蘇った。
オマケで先に発売している再結成ライブの音源・映像がＣＤ・ＤＶＤそれぞれに数曲収録されている。ＤＶＤには他に以前ＶＨＳで発売されていたＰＶを集めた”トリロジー”も収録。残念なことといえばまず、ＤＶＤの音源がＰＣＭだけということと、ＰＡＬ方式だけの発売ということ。装丁はユニバーサル系のD.E・ソニー／ＢＭＧ系S.Eの様にスリップケース付き。
現在のところ白蛇が国内発売されていない／そういう情報が無い事実は悲しいことだ。
