デキシーランド・ジャズの大御所で、コルネット奏者のボビー・ハケット。彼が、Capitolに残した2枚のLPアルバム「In A Mellow Tone」と「Soft Lights And Bobby Hackett」を1枚にまとめて初CD化。ボビー・ハケットのコルネットはとても甘く、しかしくっきりとしたサウンドなので、ムーディだけれどもいやらしくないところが魅力です。中でも、エリントンナンバーのスウィートなバラード(20)は最高。
