Simply Red are back with their first studio album in more than three years. Released on their own simplyred.com label, 'Home' features original new songs destined to become Simply Red classics, including the warm sentiments of the title track ('A loving memory/After long, home is a place where I yearn to belong') & the R&B celebration that is 'Fake'. The album also features some irrepressible covers, including 'Money In My Pocket', the Stewart Levine-produced 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' & the Dylan classic 'Positively 4th Street'. Includes the single 'Sunrise'. 11 tracks. Simply Red. 2003.

Album Description
The Album Has Been Re-packaged in a Viva Box with Full Colour Slipcase and Sticker. It features a Bonus Dvd which Includes Two Songs Taken from the Band's Live Dvd, Recorded in the Beautiful Arena of Teatro Antico Di Taormina in Sicily. Also Included is Interview Footage with Mick Hucknall and the Band and Two Audio Tracks - a Previously Unreleased Version of "Sunrise" and the Single Version of "Fake". This Special Edition Will Be Available for a Limited Period Only.

よかったです。4
今までじっくり聴いたことなかったけど、ホール＆オーツのカバーの曲に引かれて、今回購入してじっくり聴いてみて、めっちゃ気に入りました。

「名曲カバー集？」って思ってしまったくらい、曲がいい！5
　SIMPLY RED、2003年の作品です。

　アルバムについて何も知らなくて、
初めて聴いたときは、「またカバーか？」
聴き進めるにつれて、「今回は、名曲カバー集か？」って思ってしまいました。
（実は、「Blue」までは、好きだったのですが。。。離れてました）

　それくらい、メロディーが素晴らしいです！

　tr.4 スタイリスティックスのカバー
　tr.6 ボブ・ディランのカバー
　tr.8 デニス・ブラウンのカバー
　tr.3 ダリル・ホール & ジョン・オーツの"I Can't Go For That"のサンプリング
といった、過去の名曲・メロディーが出てきますが、
ミック・ハックネルのオリジナル曲も全く引けをとりません。
　極めつけは、tr.1、tr.11の"Home"！。。。全然違和感が無いです

　。。。恐るべし、ミック・ハックネル！

　表面的には、「Blue Eyed Soul！」
　内面的には、「アル・グリーン？ or カーティス・メイフィールド？」って感じです。

　なお、この「Home」から、自身の設立したレーベル「Simplyred.com」で活動です。
　「Home」という、アルバムタイトルからすると、
「原点回帰？」「一度、ゼロに戻った」という感じがします。

　桁を上げるには「０・ゼロ」が必要ですよね？
　個人的には、そのための、「原点回帰アルバム」だと思います。

　いやいや、それにしても名盤ですわ〜♪　（しみじみ）
