歳を取れば取るほど魅力的になっていく
CAPITOLに移籍してグラミー賞を獲得した「Nick of the time」の続編とでも言えるようなシックかつビタースィート、さらっとセクシー、時々豪快、な中身。プロデュースも前作に引き続きドン・ウオズ。ワーナー時代後期にずいぶん売れ線狙いの派手なプロデュースをされて失敗していたが、ドンは、デビュー当初に還ったようなシンプルさでボニー女史の持ち味を上手く引き出している。歳を取れば取るほど魅力的になっていくボニー・レイット。大器晩成ってあるよね。

Adult Contemporary
Nick of the timeの続編とでも言えるような中身。やはりこのシンガーの強みは。一緒に楽曲を書く相手が相当にすばらしい才能をもっているということ。人徳なのでしょうかね。たとえばビリーベラ、リチャードトンプソン、ジョンハイアット、ポールブレイディーなどなど。プロデュースはドンウオズで。シックかつビタースィートな仕上げリになっている。優れたソングライターチームに恵まれるかどうかはかなり大きな決定要素になる。楽曲よし、声よし、演奏よし。１０点中９点

くじ運（ラック・オブ・ドロウ）じゃなく実力ってもんさ！
　これまでアルバム毎にプロデューサーが変わっていましたが、前作がグラミー賞を獲得したためか、初めて同じプロデューサーを起用しています。そしてボニーも初めて共同プロデューサーに名を連ねています。
　１５年以上のキャリアの後にグラミー賞を獲得したせいか受賞後の第一作としての力みも見られず、逆に自信と余裕を感じられます。「渋い」という言葉がぴったりくるアルバムです。
全体に土臭いトーンで統一されていて、久々にブルース・ルーツに戻ってきました。
　"Slow Ride"でのロベン・フォードの切れ味鋭いブルース・ギターとボニーのスライドの絡みは見事です。また、アイルランドの異色のシンガー・ソングライター、ポール・ブレイディの
曲を取り上げているのが目に付きます。この２曲で、イギリスの激渋ギタリスト、リチャード・トンプソンが良い演奏をしています。
　ボニーのアルバムをどれか一枚といわれるならこれをお薦めします。
