ブルース聴くならまずこれ
ブルース界の大物が総出演、B.B.とデュエットしている豪華企画。完全新録音のスタジオ盤。アルバート・コリンズはこの録音の直後に鬼籍に入ってしまったし、ジョン・リー・フッカーも冥土にいってしまった。いま聴くとメモリアルな感もする。

ブルースのファン層拡大を意図した企画でもあるのだろう。まずはこれを聴いて、好みに合ったアーティストを見つける使い方もできる。黒人ブルース入門に戦前や50年代シカゴブルースを薦める人が多いけど、そうは思わない。

話題性だけでなく、B.B.のプレイも好調である。Nobody Loves Me But My Mother なんかちょっと軽薄な感もするが、こういうのをやってしまうあたりが、彼の柔軟さなんだろうと思う。
