1944年生まれ。ノースウェスタン大学を卒業後、イェール大学で歴史学の博士号を取得。現在マサチューセッツ州立大学ボストン校(University of Massachusetts Boston)の地域公共サービス学部(College of Public and Community Service)の歴史学教授。また同学部レーバー・スタディーズ・プログラム(Labor Studies Program)と労働運動センター(Labor Resource Center)のアカデミック・コーディネーター

篠田 徹
1959年生まれ。早稲田大学第一文学部中国文学科を卒業後、同大政治学研究科修士号を取得。同博士課程中退後、北九州大学法学部助手、専任講師、早稲田大学社会科学部専任講師、助教授を経て現在同教授。1996年から98年までハーバード大学ライシャワー日本研究所客員研究員(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)
