About the Author

Eric W. Gray is the senior architect engineer responsible for MPLS technology at Zaffire, Inc. Prior to joining Zaffire, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Inc. where he was part of Lucent’s MPLS and routing efforts.

難しい内容だ
この本の内容はとにかく難しかった。自分の知識がそれほどないことも理由かもしれないが、じっくり時間をかけて読まなければ内容の理解はとても難しいだろう。図などでの解説がもう少し多ければ助かったと思う。
そういう意味では、マスタリングシリーズにしては分かりにくいかもしれない。

マスタリングシリーズとしては
IP-VPNなどと併せて注目を浴びているMPLSを取り扱っているが、同シリーズとしては内容は高度。MPLSという技術がまだ枯れていないということ、実際にMPLSを必要とする技術者はネットワークに対してそれ相応のスキルを持っているから（最低でもCCNA以上）、等が理由として考えられる。

技術的なポイントだけ掴みたければ4～5章を、実装のポイントを知りたければ6～7章の熟読をお勧めします。（1～3章はちょっと退屈でした。）
